Twin Creeks presents “Having the Conversation” on January 26

On January 26 the Twin Creeks team presented, “Having the Conversation,” a program dedicated to helping families start the conversation with their loved ones about Assisted Living. Many adult children find a communications gap with their parent when they are trying to discuss the possibility of a future move to Assisted Living, and this program is designed to overcome that fear.

Twin Creeks Assisted Living & Memory Care will be managed by Retirement Living Associates, Inc.,  a company with more than 30 years of experience in providing high quality senior care.

“At RLA we have worked with hundreds of families who are struggling with this decision to move to Assisted Living,” said David Ammons, President of RLA, Inc. and one of the presenters. “We understand what you are going through – for many of us we have had this discussion with our own family members. We want to get to know you personally and help you through this process to make it as stress-free as possible.”

Morgan Lamphere, Vice President of Marketing for Retirement Living Associates, Inc. discussed the challenges that adult children have with understanding that their senior parent is at a different developmental stage in communication than they are.

Shane Potter, Executive Director at Twin Creeks Assisted Living, discussed his history with working as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Manager and then Executive Director in a community.

“At a young age my father was diagnosed with tongue and throat cancer, and he had to live in a nursing home for a short period of time,” said Shane. “That experience and watching people take poor care of my father motivated me to want to change the way things are done in a community. Every resident I take care of is my mom – and my staff must believe in the same philosophy.”

Danielle Webster, Marketing Director, was on hand to answer questions about the community.

“The excitement about Twin Creeks is really building,” said Danielle. “I know many people in the FishHawk neighborhood are looking forward to having a great Assisted Living community close to home.”

Twin Creeks recently opened an Information Center at 13426 Boyette Road and is taking pre-lease deposits for the community opening in May of 2017. For more information call (813) 551-2333.
